Tellico was the last TVA reservoir built and has the clearest water in the East Tennessee chain. The shorelines are largely residential — Tellico Village alone holds thousands of lake-front home sites — and most properties expect a build with serious craftsmanship: standing-seam roofs, cedar trim, sundeck options, integrated lighting.
Most Tellico builds are pile-driven fixed boathouses with covered slips and Tide Tamer lifts. For the deeper-water properties and the Vonore side, aluminum-frame floating systems with Floatair lifts also work well. Yes — every Tellico Village build goes through the architectural review process. We design to those standards from day one and submit the package to the ARB along with the TVA 26a permit.
Tellico is the last reservoir on the chain and has less industrial input than the main TVA river system. Combined with limestone geology, that gives it the clearest water in the area.
From signed contract to tied-up boat, plan 4–6 months. TVA review runs the same as elsewhere; the ARB approval is the main local timing factor.
